Health Benefits of Maple Syrup, Grade B

. . No comments:
Though pure maple syrup any way you slice it, is very expensive, there are a lot of great health benefits and I'd like to briefly share them with you.  This is only for Grade B maple syrup.
  • There are elevated levels of manganese, which helps lower triglycerides and cholesterol levels.
  • It's great for the heart, as there is also good amounts of zinc.  It's not only an antioxidant, but it  replenishes and preserves endothelial cells, which are used to strengthen the heart.
  • Manganese and Zinc also help support the immune system, so you won't get sick as much by helping support your white blood cells and help with cell growth.
  • Has higher levels of sucrose, fructose, and glucose, which gives energy and helps in pain management.
  • For men, it's been shown to help with their reproductive system by reducing prostate size (the zinc), and the manganese helps in the increased production of male sex hormones.
  • Has higher concentration of minerals (mainly manganese & zinc) that help your body over honey.
  • Has fewer calories than honey.  It has 50 calories per 1 Tablespoon over honey which has 64 calories for the same Tablespoon.
  • 17 g sugar per 1 Tablespoon = honey, while maple syrup is about 11 g sugar per 1 Tbspn
  • Maple syrup has greater flavor (the darker it is), so it holds a sweet flavor better, but it is more earthy.
  • Usually people with allergies can handle maple syrup, as it doesn't usually have properties that cause allergies.
  • Manganese & Zinc are it's main minerals, but others are:  Calcium, Chromium, Copper, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Selenium, Sodium, but the latter minerals are very small amounts, as compared to the other 2.
