My Heartrate Monitor Settings

I use a Polar RS200SD Heartrate Monitor.

As of 23-Apr-2014, I am a 46 years old female, so my max HR (heartrate) is 174 (220 - 46 = 174).

The HR Zones for me are:

Zone 1 = 69-74% (120-130 bpm)
Zone 2 = 75-78% (131-136 bpm)
Zone 3 = 79-82% (137-143 bpm)
Zone 4 = 83-88% (144-154 bpm)
Zone 5 = 89-99% (155-173 bpm)

My resting HR is 53 bpm.

My VO2 Max is 46, which is in the excellent range.

These are the things that are programmed into my HR monitor and are the things I display for results in HR Zone Times.  I also have my weight and height in there, so it takes those things into account when it calculates calories burned.

Notes:   My lower back still hasn't been feeling good, but I decided to do the butt challenge in part.  I figure my lower back and abs need strengthening as well as healing.  This was a hard workout since I haven't done a Zuzka workout in almost a month.  I could download the video, and put it in my blog, but I do pay a subscription to her and it probably wouldn't be right for me to do so, since it is not a free video, so I won't.

I will put some free videos on YT to show some of the exercises, but Zuzka always has her own twists to things.

Goblet Squat with a Kettlebell:
Forward Backward Squat Jumps:
So, the first exercise is a combination of the 2 prior videos.  You do 5 Goblet Squats with the Kettlebell (I used a 15 lb KB because that's the highest weight I have - but you could also use DBs on their sides for this exercise).  After you do the Goblet Squats, then you do the Forward Backward Squat Jumps, do that 5 times.  That is a total of ONE set and you do it for FOUR sets in each round.

Kettlebell Swings:

1 Legged Kettlebell Dead Lift (1 Kettlebell):

Curtsy Lunge:

Kettlebell Lunge Pass Through:
The Pass Through Curtsy Lunge is the last video but doing the Curtsy as the video just before it.

Wk 7, Day 6 - Saturday, 19-Apr-2014

WORSHIP SONG:

With Every Act of Love - Jason Gray

5 GRATITUDES (Thank you, Heavenly Papa!):
  • Thank you God for all the subcon work I got done today.  This is one of the few days I've gotten to work this much in a quite awhile and got to make decent money for what I'm doing.
  • Thank you God we didn't have to drive much today and mainly stayed home.
  • Thank you God for the movie Escape.  That was a good movie.
  • Thank you God our daughter got to spend most of this weekend with one of her best friends.
  • Thank you God AI can fill in for me next for Sunday School.
THOUGHTS:
  • Loved the coolness and cloudiness of the day.  Very thankful to God that it wasn't hot yesterday and today.  Very nice for the Easter weekend.
  • It felt good to not have to be driving all over the place this weekend as nearly every weekend in the past month, we've had a lot of driving for kids stuff.  Next weekend will be super intense with driving and schedules.  One kid is in a Chess Tournament all weekend in NW Phx and the other kid on Saturday is doing a 5 hr Speech and Debate session.  I've already calculated that if we don't go anywhere except for the kids stuff, this will be at least 200 miles of driving for that day being chauffeur.
  • Glad we got to do some cleaning for my dad with something either he or the kids did that splattered stuff on the ceiling.  It will eventually need to repainted, but at least the spots are off.
  • My back hasn't been feeling too great since that time nearly 2 weeks ago I felt sharp pains while coughing violently.  Using the tens unit and working on my psoas to untighten this.  Guess I got to be more diligent in doing this until this is completely healed.  It started hurting again while I was at the school of my son's helping with the Civil War event.
  • Quiet day.  Praise God!
ACTIONS:
  • Probiotic & krill oil - before breakfast
  • 3 tpsns Braggs raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in 8 oz water - before breakfast

SLEEP:
  • 12:45 am - 7:45 am (7 hrs) - wanted to sleep in longer, but body wouldn't let me

Wk 7, Day 5 - Friday, 18-Apr-2014

WORSHIP SONG:
Overflow (Cover) - Chris Tomlin

5 GRATITUDES (Thank you, Heavenly Papa!):
  • Thank you God for Jesus Christ dying on the Cross for my sins (and everyone else's too).
  • Thank you God I got all my Thursday work done and I don't have to do it today.
  • Thank you God I got to sleep in until 7 am!
  • Thank you God for good clean drinking water.
  • Thank you God today is Good Friday, a great reminder of what You did for me.
THOUGHTS:
  • Sometimes communicating in marriage with the familiarity is a challenge.  Thankfully I don't hang onto stuff and am learning when to just back off with my husband.  We tend to be opposites in some areas and especially when we are driving, he really comments a lot on other people's driving.  It used to stress me out because he had to say something about anyone making a mistake, forgetting that no matter how careful of a driver he is, he still makes mistakes, too.

Yes, a lot of people do some dumb, risky things driving and that is just a part of driving in Phoenix.  Glad I rarely ever get upset, and I just drive defensively and I'm learning to just ignore my husband's remarks here and let him just do his venting here.  That's his way of dealing with it and eventually he'll learn it just takes too much energy to always judge and criticize all these drivers.  That's just really wasted energy, IMHO.

Very grateful God has put His protection on us when others or we do stupid things in driving and other areas of life.
  • Our daughter is spending a couple nights at one of her best friend's homes since she is in town for a few days.  We'll give her until Saturday and we may even let her go to church with her family on Easter.  We'll see.  I know our daughter greatly misses her and vice versa, as she lives all the way on the other side of the country and hates NJ.
  • So glad to talk to my good friends LW and NR today.  I miss my girlfriends and girlfriend time.
  • Was hoping I'd get a workout done today, but that didn't happen.  Tomorrow, I pray.
  • During our son's Chess Tournaments and Choir Auditions, our daughter has had to clean the house and do a lot of chores when our son's away.  Now that she is away for a part of the weekend, he has to do all the chores instead of her.
  • Tonight I got to watch "Catching Fire" with my son.  That really is a weird movie, just like Hunger Games.  I don't get the ending.  Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention.  Did Peeta die?  What happened?
  • Got to learn and sing Hemorrhage with my husband.  This is easier to sing than Dead or Alive or the Foster the People songs.
ACTIONS:
  • Probiotic & krill oil - before breakfast
  • 3 tpsns Braggs raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in 8 oz water - before breakfast
  • Hibiscus & green tea with honey, turmeric, ginger - did not do

5 GRATITUDES (Thank you, Heavenly Papa!):
  • Thank you God for yummy subs.
  • Thank you God for yummy cake.
  • Thank you God for the kids' karate Master.  He really gives a lot every class and more.
  • Thank you God for the ability to hear.
  • Thank you God for time with my husband to just kick back and connect.
THOUGHTS:
  • Talked to a friend of mine who works for Vanguard and he loves it there.  I also talked to a recruiter at Vanguard last week at the job fair and will be applying for a couple jobs there tomorrow, as well as to Charles Schwab.  I really want to get into this area of finances and the big companies will pay for licensing and they have classes to study for the licenses.  Very cool.
  • I saw on my friend, Craig's FB about oil pulling, but it sounds interesting and wondering if it's something the kids and I could do.  I know it's too weird for my husband, but I'm game.
  • Added an extension app called Facebook Favorite to Chrome.  I like now I can favorite a post that someone writes that I like.  So, when you add this extension in Chrome (I don't know what that would be for Internet Explorer or Firefox), it puts at the top right of your browser a star with a F on it and you can click on that to view all the FB things you favorited.  And for every post, near the "Like" button is the "Favorite" button.  Very cool.
  • More job search stuff in between everything else.
  • Got about 80% of my work turned in today but a zillion interruptions dragged this out and I was really tired from sleep deprivation.  Happy to have gotten this much done despite.
  • Love when my husband and I can set aside the cares of the day and just connect.  He loves when he just play and I sing.  He doesn't care that I'm off key or anything.
  • Put the Tens unit on my back for quite some time today (lower back) and I hope it helps with preventing me from hurting tomorrow and other days.  Thank you, Jesus.
  • My ears are a little clogged today or feel stuffy and it hurts to yawn.  I am guessing that the music was too loud for me last night with the concert.  Next time we won't be so close and I'll bring ear plugs if I need them.

WORSHIP SONG:
My God - Jeremy Camp

5 GRATITUDES (Thank you, Heavenly Papa!):
  • Thank you God for the Foster the People concert.
  • Thank you God the crowd at the concert was great.  No one used even one word of profanity.
  • Thank you God for the girls who let me back in line.
  • Thank you God for safety.
  • Thank you God for the physical stamina to stand for so long.
THOUGHTS:
  • I'm not feeling 100% yet, but I feel significantly better than yesterday and Sunday night, so I am happy that I am on the mend.  Praise God for His healing, for my husband letting me rest yesterday, the Tens unit and more sleep yesterday morning.
  • My husband got us tickets for Foster the People awhile back, a real treat.  And it was at the Marquee in Tempe.  We got to go with our friend DB.  We had a great time.  The band played for over 1.5 hrs with maybe a short few minute break for a 2-3 song encore.  The group that opened was called Young and Sick and I like the sound of the music, though I have no clue what the lyrics were.  Since my back wasn't feeling well for a week, I was worried whether I could stand for 3 hrs.  Praise God I was able to do this, though, I was very tired afterwards.  This was my husband's first rock concert ever and I'm so glad we could experience it together.
  • Very thankful that I got all my work done by around 5 pm, so I wouldn't have to worry when we got home to do the work or cram it in early in the morning.
  • It felt great to not have to worry about getting the taxes done as they were already filed and the IRS and the State have accepted my returns electronically.
  • Grateful for naps.

At Your Name (about 1:40) - Phil Wickham

5 GRATITUDES (Thank you, Heavenly Papa!):
  • Thank you God for the Tens unit again.
  • Thank you God my husband did a lot of the things I normally do because I couldn't.
  • Thank you God I got all my Friday work turned in on time.
  • Thank you God I got all my Monday work turned in early.
  • Thank you God my back is starting to feel a little better.
THOUGHTS:
  • My husband had to get up early and take the kids to school because my lower back still wasn't too good, though, a little better than yesterday.  He also had to take care of lunch and do some stuff for me since it was hurting me to do things.  I'm pretty sure that he will never attempt to do what he did that caused me this back injury.
  • I'm really bummed that this injury made me miss working out totally last week and possibly this week.  My psoas was really tight, which I think was because of all the violent coughing.  I forgive my husband.
  • I need to be feeling a lot better tomorrow.
ACTIONS:
  • Probiotic & krill oil - before breakfast
  • 3 tpsns Braggs raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in 8 oz water - before breakfast

  • Water, iced tea
  • Did EFT for:  nothing

  • 11:15 pm - 6:45 am (7.5 hrs) - my lower back doesn't feel that great, maybe from wearing heels the other day and the coughing fit from the day before, and my menstrual cycle.
  • 10:00 am - 11:30 am (1.5 hrs) - I wanted to sleep longer but my daughter woke me up with a phone call from school.  But, this did help me.

Wk 6, Day 7 - Sunday, 13-Apr-2014

WORSHIP SONG:

Lord I Need You (starts at 3:40) - Matt Maher & Kristian Stanfill

5 GRATITUDES (Thank you, Heavenly Papa!):
  • Thank you God for the Tens unit.
  • Thank you God for the tools I have to help with my lower back.
  • Thank you God the day is almost over.
  • Thank you God for good food.
  • Thank you God for money to get groceries.
THOUGHTS:
  • We have been completely out of eggs for maybe 4 days now and it's really hard to live without eggs.  They are a core staple in our diet and I can't imagine not being able to eat eggs.  Maybe that's why I haven't felt as good.
  • Since my daughter who was doing part of the laundry didn't do it well, she now ends up having to iron 2 loads of laundry.  I've told her repeatedly to pay attention and as soon as the clothes are done drying in the dryer, take them out to fold and to hang up.  She lied and told me that she immediately hung up the clothes but every single item that I pulled out of mine were incredibly wrinkled.  She will probably be ironing for a couple hours at this rate or most of Sunday.
  • Our daughter has been grounded from using any of our home computers or smartphones because she tested me last week in something.  I was tired of it happening repeatedly and said if it happened one more time, this would happen.  It was a hard week for her to not have the resources she's needed to get her homework done, but I had to follow through on what I said and not cave in, which is what she expected.  The grounding is over at 3 pm today, but I'm fairly unhappy about the clothing thing.
  • The cable I bought for the iPhone 5c to recharge it from my laptop seems to work well and is sturdy.  The cable is a bit stiff, though.  The only thing I don't like about the USB iPhone charges is they will not charge if they are connected via a USB hub.  It needs to go directly into the laptop and with two iPhones, that takes up 2 of the 4 USB ports I have.  The hub takes up one port and my subcon job takes up another port.  It's bout $11, much less than going to Target or buying from the Apple store.  It also has a lifetime warranty.
  • As the day wore on, I felt worse and worse.  I think the ice made it worse.  While at church, I was feeling not only pain in my lower back, but pains down both sides of my legs.  Because I felt so bad, I did end up trying to nap a bit, but the pain felt bad.  Anyway, the more I stood, especially to make the burgers and fries on the hard kitchen tile, the worse my back felt.

I believe this back pain was brought on Tuesday with my husband, something he didn't mean to do, which caused me to violently cough for near an hour, throw up and lots of congestion for the next 24 hrs plus.  Hopefully this didn't cause a hernia and maybe just tightened up my psoas.  Then, wearing heels a couple days later for hours, all the walking and stuff I had to carry, and all the activities on Friday and the weekend, was too much.  My body wanted to rest.
ACTIONS:
  • Probiotic & krill oil - before breakfast
  • 3 tpsns Braggs raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in 8 oz water - before breakfast
  • Hibiscus & green tea with honey, turmeric, ginger - did not do
  • My heart meds, hair supps, Multi-vitamins, cinnamon, Zn, Mg, Ca, selenium supp, Vit E - breakfast

Not Where I Belong - Building 429

5 GRATITUDES (Thank you, Heavenly Papa!):
  • Thank you God our son got asked to join the Phx Boys Choir!!!
  • Thank you God for safety in driving.
  • Thank you God for toilets.
  • Thank you God I got somewhat of a break today.
  • Thank you God for an overcast day.
THOUGHTS:
  • Our son got to spend the morning with the Phx Boys Choir and audition at the end of it, before they hold formal auditions.  He has no formal voice or musical training other than what he has had in school and they think he will fit in well to the choir.  However, he would be starting off in the Training section, although, they offered for him to go up a level from there.  We feel that if he does join, that getting formal training for several months or so would greatly help him.  Very cool.  It's a bit expensive, so we have to see how our financial situation is, but it's a possibility.  They practice twice a week for 10 months out of the year.
  • My husband woke up feeling dizzy and not that great, but he went ahead and came to the finale of the Boys Choir Morning Camp I took our son, too and the audition afterwards.  Shortly after we came home we both napped for a good part of the afternoon.
  • Very behind on my subcon work.

SLEEP:
  • 10:30 pm - 4:45 am (6.25 hrs) - woke up wide awake and couldn't get back to sleep
  • 9:15 am - 9:45 am (0.25 hr) - felt so sleepy after dropping off our son in Phx to eventually audition for the Phx Boys Choir
  • 3:15 pm - 6:15 pm (3 hrs) - wow, the longest nap I've done in a long time and my husband, too
FOOD JOURNAL:

  • Thank you God for safety in all the driving we did.
  • Thank you God I was able to get resume paper at Staples for less than the cost at Costco online.
  • Thank you God my son's left foot is feeling better.
THOUGHTS:
  • It was an exhausting day with very little sleep.  The University of Phx stadium is about an hour's drive from where we live in light traffic.  All in all, it was very well organized and we made quite a few contacts, which I will follow up over the weekend or Monday.  I have to catch up on my subcon work.
  • I didn't even get my work until 5:30 pm and was exhausted before I started.  Worked for 3-4 hrs, but it wasn't enough.  Only got like 40% of the work done and turned in.  Got to finish tomorrow.
  • Helping my son with his foot is eluding me.  I think the electrical stimulation via the Tens unit is helping, but he's still having pain in his foot.
  • From the time I woke up at 5:30 am to the time I went to bed at 9:45 pm, it was go, go, go.  Glad every day isn't like this.
ACTIONS:
  • Probiotic & krill oil - before breakfast
  • 3 tpsns Braggs raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in 8 oz water - before breakfast

Victory in Jesus/Power of the Blood

5 GRATITUDES (Thank you, Heavenly Papa!):

  • Thank you God I got our taxes done.
  • Thank you God the kids got to go to Advanced Karate class tonight.
  • Thank you God I am not in physical pain today.
  • Thank you God for the tools You give us.
THOUGHTS:
  • Thankfully I had all my tax stuff fairly organized and was able to get on Turbo Tax to do everything.  I need to confirm a few things and get documentation for those, but otherwise, I can actually electronically file my taxes now.  I will do this tomorrow sometime and with 5 days to spare.  Woohoo!  It wasn't too bad.
  • Our son's left foot hasn't been feeling well.  I used trigger point stuff to help him yesterday, but it didn't really help.  Maybe I have the wrong areas.  Today I am using the Tens unit to see if that helps or not.  He says his foot is feeling better - I had him do two 15 minute sessions on his foot (1 electrode on top of his foot, the other on the bottom at the ball of his foot), and one 15 minute session to the left of his left shin, the upper portion.  Tomorrow before school I'll do this again for him, but I'll use 4 electrodes to save time.
  • Tomorrow my husband and I are going to a job fair.  It's far from where we live and hopefully it is fruitful for us.
  • Stayed on track today with my subcon work and got that done early enough so I could work on taxes, which I was going to do over the weekend, but thankful it's now done and I don't have to worry about that.  I just need to review the stuff and pay for it.

THOUGHTS:
  • This morning after we dropped my daughter off for Women's Choir, my son and I went to go wash my dad's Escort.  Last year, my husband and I got this washed and it really needed it today.  You could barely see out of the windows as it was covered in dust.  The trunk was absolutely filthy and horrifying.  He had stuff all over the inside, but since it was cleaned late last summer, at least it wasn't as bad as it was then.

We worked hard and quickly for about 45 min. to get this cleaned and tossed out a lot of stuff.  We used 4 of the high powered vacuums for this.  I wished I had taken before and after pictures of the trunk, because it was unbelievably gross.  Now, it's acceptable.  Next week my son and I will take the care and detail it even more and I'll get the tires checked.  Now both my dad's cars are cleaned and organized.
  • My husband and I were goofing around and he was telling me he wanted to work on some trigger points on me which resulted in me getting really congested and having a severe coughing fit that had me throwing up and threw out my back.  Not good.  Anyway, my plans were to workout today doing a Zuzka HIIT but now my back needs a few days to recover.  And I had to call the subcon place to take a light load today.  I doubt my husband will ever try to do that again because this is costing us some money.  He felt really bad about this.
  • I'm going to learn to do HTML and CSS.  I started with some lessons last night.  Will work through one lesson at a time and see how this goes.  Liking this.
  • Today we had more money going out than coming in, but I am believing that God will just generously bless.  The things that went out, 3 larger bills, were all paid quite a bit early and this is the second month we've been able to do that.  Hopefully this will be a trend to be able to pay bills early and I feel very grateful to be able to do this.
  • Grateful son earned 3 coupons to get free burgers at In-N-Out Burgers.  I didn't want one as I'm not feeling so great, but I was worried about what to do for dinner this evening and God answered with free burgers.  There's a little bit of leftovers so I can have that or soup.

Wk 6, Day 1 - Monday, 7-Apr-2014

WORSHIP SONG:
Washed Over Me - Adam Cappa

5 GRATITUDES (Thank you, Heavenly Papa!):
  • Thank you God for keeping my husband and the other driver safe.
  • Thank you God I chose to dwell on good thoughts and diffuse anger by submitting it to You.
  • Thank you God I got all my subcon work done just before the kids got home from school.
  • Thank you God for my kids stood in the gap for me in an area that is important to me.
  • Thank you God for extra money.
THOUGHTS:
  • God has definitely given me much grace today.  I was really out of it regarding not getting enough sleep and awful sleep, mind you.  I will need to pray and ask God to help me in the sleep area as many nights recently I've been plagued with bad dreams.  I dreamed about cars at one point, two dreams, and one involving an accident.
  • My husband got into a minor car accident that did not damage to the other vehicle (thankfully because it was a BMW) and it only damaged our front license plate.  I praise God for His protection.
  • Working to direct my thoughts and emotions to the Lord and that they would be pleasing to Him above all.  Not going to let the devil use my emotions to run my marriage and household.
  • Technically I had time to workout today, but did not due to lack of sleep.  Which, my body is already in a state of stress.  I will only do the intense workouts when I have adequate rest.
